Do you believe in happily never after? Probably that's how some of us our stories will always end.
Because if love means to love that which is unlovable, then she should be with me right now
The first time I saw her, she had the biggest smile I've ever seen
I was very shy, but I managed to take a glimpse of her, and I must say she looked so fine
She wore a dress with the inscription you are mine
And I immediately made that my pick up line
She wore a ponytail, and her bag dangled from side to side as we took a walk.
We walked under the moonlight holding hands like a kid holding on to a candy bar
She told me things I only saw in movies
She showed me her world through her words
She was brutally honest and fascinating
Her favorite Bible verse is Exodus 14:14
”You know what that says?"
Look it up
I was in a dark place; she became my light
When I couldn't find my way, she became my path
When I almost flat-lined, she resuscitated me
She gave me her, but now she's not here
Her love came with terms and conditions.
And like most terms and conditions, I didn't read but agreed to it.
As hours turned to days; days to weeks, and weeks to months
I didn't follow the manual
Unknowingly I was driving her insane
Rendered her night sleepless with pain
Stabbed her in the back; I became her Cain
Like every story, this came to a sudden end.
But like everything else, we deserve a second chance
I'm on my knees; screaming, please come back to me
This is my humble plea
This poem has one intention
To let you know, I also deserve redemption
I know you can live your life without me
And maybe, yes, I can too, but I don't want to
Let's go back to when you were my Bambi, and I was your Papi.
